Use of hard water with high levels of dissolved minerals in cleaning equipment can be a major contributor to equipment breakdown and failures. Mineral deposits can quickly form inside internal solution lines, valves and heat exchangers. Prochem and Sapphire Scientific equipment is engineered to minimize the effects of hard water on pressurized solution systems, but we recommend adding a rechargeable water softener to your freshwater supply system if water hardness in your service area exceeds 7 grains (120 ppm).
